If you love fashion and the arts, you're going to LOVE this episode. I have Joanie Coyote on the show, who is a Costume History Professor, Theatre Costume Designer, and Stand-Up Comic.
Costuming brought her from Texas to New York in the 1980's where she made costumes for Broadway plays such as Starlight Express, Miss Saigon and Phantom of the Opera. She was a dresser for Les Miserable and a few other Broadway shows. Joanie stumbled into other creative outlets such as acting in a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play, Top Girls, and waitressing at the Original Improv Comedy Club which would lead to her eventually performing comedy in Houston and Los Angeles for many years. Joanie is a single mom to an awesome daughter and is committed to empowering women in any way possible.
Joanie and I talk about the rise of women in the fashion industry, how fashion has evolved through the times, the power of pink hair, our fashion predictions for a post-COVID world, and so much more. Grab a cup of coffee and get ready to dig in to this fabulous conversation!
